Because each season of Pretty Little Liars only covers a small period of time (the first two seasons together add up to about half a year), it feels like Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto) has been pregnant forever — after all, Torrey's been playing a mom-to-be since Spring 2011.

However, now that we know that Season 3 starts about six months after the Season 2 finale, at Labor Day a year after Ali's body was found, it seems like it will be time for Melissa to finally give birth. So, will be see another Hastings come into the world?

A fan recently asked PLL showrunner Marlene King this very question via Twitter, saying, "Is melissa ever going to have her baby? s3?"

Marlene responded, "Wait for it. Wait for it."

While it could just be a roundabout way of saying yes, Marlene's reply seems awfully cryptic for a plot point that is based on basic biology. If Melissa is pregnant, she has to have the baby sometime soon. That's how it works.

But what if she's not pregnant? We've theorized before that Melissa is faking her pregnancy (at least at this point; it's possible she was pregnant and had a miscarriage), and in fact could be the mysterious Black Swan.

If Melissa's pregnancy is a lie, that would explain why Marlene is being so evasive about a question that seems to have a simple answer. Just a thought...
