Tonight’s episode of Pretty Little Liars (Season 3, Episode 19: “What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted?) was epic for more reasons than one.
Not only did Spencer (Troian Bellisario) go head-to-head with Mona (she literally attacked her), but CeCe (Vanessa Ray) became the frontrunner in our weekly “Who Is ‘A”” pool. Oh, and Jason (Drew Van Acker) is now MIA... after getting into a near-fatal elevator accident — naturally — caused by “A.”
That’s right. Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Jason found themselves in a pretty deadly situation after their elevator stopped operating. This job had “A’s” handywork all over it. After all, the whisky bottle from last week’s episode was at the scene of the crime. Em managed to jump out, but poor Jason wasn’t so lucky. However, despite taking a nasty fall, Jason miraculously survived.
There’s only one problem: just when the Liars turn their backs, Jason goes missing from the hospital! Is Jason the victim or is he part of the “A” team? Earlier in the episode, he revealed to Em that he saw CeCe talking to Melissa the night of Ali’s death. Hm, emergency N.A.T. Club meeting? It would make sense for CeCe to want Jason dead — and she already stole the photographic evidence. Maybe now she’s finishing the job?
Not helping CeCe’s case is the fact she lied to Aria about her car being stolen. Why did she have to come up with a lie? Unless, there was something more important she needed to do than oversee a photoshoot. Could CeCe be the girl in the red coat?
Meanwhile, Hanna (Ashley Benson) convinces Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) to meet with his uncle-turned-father Jamie. He resists at first, but thanks to Hanna, he agrees to meet with Jamie. They may not be the perfect father-son duo, but they do agree about one thing: Hanna is awesome.
Unfortunately for Hanna, she now knows Jamie isn’t exactly the most honest man. He’s been stealing from the church! Uh oh. Is she going to keep this from Caleb?
As for Aria (Lucy Hale), she’s been spending some time with Wes (Gregg Sulkin), and dare we say it, but they two of them are actually pretty adorable. It’s nice to see Aria let loose and not have to deal with adult problems. She gets to be a teen when she’s with Wes, and we like that.
Lastly, Wren is back — thanks to Mona (Janel Parrish). Why did Mona ask Wren to help Spencer? Also, we forgot how much we missed Wrencer.
