Short answer: Yes, yes it did. This episode was action packed and revealed a ton of info.
Most shockingly, we learned that Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) lost her baby. And not just that, but she's lying about when she lost it: She claims it was three months ago, but thanks to Spencer's (Troian Bellisario) sleuthing skills, we know it was earlier than that, and Ms. Hastings is in on the lie. The question is, is Melissa's baby drama related to why Ms. Hastings is now defending Garrett (Yani Gellman)?
And then there's Jenna (Tammin Sursok), who the Liars finally caught out. She admitted she's been lying about not being able to see, but she claimed it was just to protect herself. She also admited to picking Emily (Shay Mitchell) up "that night," but said it was because Emily was lost and drunk. Apparently Ems jumped out of her car at a red light. But is she telling the truth?
With Mona (Janel Parrish) we just have more mystery. She's talking coherently now, but she's not sharing any info, and it's unclear how sane she is. Lucas (Brendan Robinson), suspiciously, went to visit her, and he claimed to think she's faking her insanity entirely. Is he right? And why is he suddenly acting totally sketchy and rude to Hanna (Ashley Benson)?
Meanwhile, we also got some resolution to the Ella (Holly Marie Combs) plotline. She almost got in trouble for doctoring Emily's grade, but Ezra (Ian Harding) saved the day … with another lie. We wonder if that will come back to bite them.
In emotional news, Emily is sick and tired of being treated like she's about to break at any second, Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) is sick and tired of Hanna visiting Mona, and Spencer is freaking out because everyone in her family is lying to her. Fair enough, Spencer. Fair enough.
This episode was full of jaw-dropping moments, and it also featured some killer acting, especially from Janel Parrish and Troian Bellisario. We're genuinely unsure if Mona is faking or really out of her mind, and we definitely felt Spencer's pain and anger in her confrontation with her mom. And in general, everyone seemed on top of their acting game this week. We also loved Caleb's confrontation with Mona, Emily saying she's more angry than scared, and Jenna begging the Liars to keep her secret.
4.5 stars! And after we rewatch we may even bump that to 5.
