We love all of Pretty Little Liars’ constant thrills and surprises, but at the end of every episode, it always seems as though we have more questions than answers, which was especially true after this week’s crazy Season 3 finale.
To that end, we’ve tackled the 10 biggest questions from this week’s episode in order to figure out what’s really going on in Rosewood and to pick up on any and all clues.
Here are 10 questions from Season 3, Episode 24: “A dAngerous gAme.”
1. Who is pulling the hand out of the ground?
It seems Ali is alive, as Mona and the Liars saw her in the red coat saving them from the fire — although Aria suggests it may have been an Ali mask. But who was pulling the hand out of the dirt at the end? Was Ali getting help out of the grave from her twin — or was someone else pulling her, like CeCe or a Liar? And then whose body was found in Season 1? Gah!
2. Are Jenna, Melissa, and Shana battling the “A” team?
Jenna, Melissa, and Shana might be on the “A” team, but it seems more likely that they’re part of a rival team feuding with the “A” team — as in the “A” team vs. the NAT Club. We’re guessing it was one of these three ladies who knocked out Toby and started the fire with the Liars and Mona locked inside. Translation: The Hatfields and McCoys have nothing on this feud.
3. Why is Shana involved -- and does this mean Paige is bad, too?
We kinda hate meeting new characters, since so many older characters are MIA. (Where are you, Noel?) Yet it appears Shana will now have a major role, given that she is so tight with Jenna. But did Shana even know Ali? And was Shana trying to get info from Paige while they dated — or is Paige up to no good, too? And maybe Missy Franklin is on the “A” team?
4. Who’s in the trunk?
We’re inclined to think it’s Jason’s body in Wilden’s trunk, since he’s been missing for so long and the body in the morgue last week appeared to have his scar on it. Or maybe CeCe is in there? Either way, it’s clear Wilden had something to do with the body being in there, since he was so desperate to get his car back from Hanna. We’ll miss you, Trunk Person.
5. Has Mona gone good?
With Mona getting targeted along with the Liars by Rosewood’s ever-prolific arsonist this week, we’re starting to wonder if Mona is even all that devious. After all, she admits to not knowing who Red Coat is. So we’re hoping Mona might soon be leaving behind her evil ways and helping the Liars. Let’s face it — those girls can use all the help they can get.
6. Can Toby be trusted?
We certainly hope Toby can be trusted, since making him constantly go back and forth between good and evil would be a bit ridiculous. However, Spencer did seem a little hasty in trusting him, which might not have been a great idea. So will Toby get blamed for the fire, since the lighter was placed next to him? And speaking of fire, how hot were those Spoby scenes? Yowza.
7. Does Toby trying to run over Lucas mean Lucas is a bad dude?
Toby didn’t seem like a good guy when he tried to run Lucas down with his truck earlier this season. How was that helping Spencer — unless Lucas is in fact an evil dude? Perhaps Lucas is involved with Jenna, Melissa, and Shana? But Mona whispering to Lucas after she saw the cow brain in her locker makes it seem like Mona and Lucas are aligned. What’s your deal, Lucas?
8. Will we see Duncan Albert again soon?
Aria meets a pilot named Duncan in Season 2, who said he used to take Ali flying and was kinda-sorta in love with her. So is he going to come back into the picture, now that we’ve heard that plane overhead? And where exactly was the person in the plane coming from? We’re also wondering if Duncan gives away tiny bags of pretzels in his plane, like the airlines do.
9. Why didn’t Dr. Sullivan ever mention anything about Toby?
Toby is referred to as “Pretty Eyes” this week, much as someone on the “A” team was when Dr. Sullivan was being blackmailed. This seems to imply Toby was the one who was meeting with Dr. Sullivan — but then why wouldn’t she have told the Liars this? Is it possible Dr. Sullivan is up to no good as well — especially since Mona seemed to be very appreciative of her help?
10. Is this really the end of Ezria?
When it comes to Ezra and Aria’s relationship, it seems best to never say never. Still, their break-up seemed rather final for the time being, so we wonder how long it will take them to rekindle things, if they ever do. We’re still rooting for you, Ezria — even though you’ve broken up about 5,000 times by now.
