“A” has always been one step ahead of us, but now the Pretty Little Liars are ahead of the curb. Not only did the ABC Family show’s stellar ratings make history, but the Season 3 finale marked the first time in television history for a show to reach over one million airtime tweets! Way to go, Little Liars!
PLL-related tweets made up more than one-third of Twitter chatter in the hour it was on the air. What can we say? It was hard to keep our joy over the Spoby reunion to ourselves.
Tweeting wasn’t the only record Pretty Little Liars set. “A dAngerous gAme” finished the night as ABC Family’s most-watched original series installment ever in the 18-34 ratings demographic, with over 1.1. million in that age group tuning in to watch the shocking Red Coat Reveal.
Per the usual, PLL particularly pulled in the female viewer, finishing the season as Tuesday’s number one telecast in “Females, 12-34” (1.76 million); “Teens, 12-17” (909,000); and “Female Teens” (807,000) for the eleventh consecutive week. That’s every week since the winter premiere!

With the strong finish, PLL Season 3 stands as the most-watched show on television by Female Teens, and number two in television drama in the “Females, 12-34” category (behind AMC’s The Walking Dead).
Season 3 was the most watched PLL season yet in the coveted “Adults, 18-34” (1.14 million); “Women, 18-34” (963,000); and Women, 18-49” (1.24 million) audiences. These numbers don’t even take into account the substantial boost our Little Liars get from DVR viewing. The show audience increases by over one million viewers, representing double-digit percentage increases in all target demographics.
