The Pretty Little Liars writers love to structure important episodes in interesting ways. The last two season finales have drawn inspiration from Hitchcock movies, and according to showrunner Marlene King the Season 3 premiere ("Season 3, Episode 1: “It Happened ‘That Night’”) will also make some allusions every PLL fan should understand.

"About to shoot a scene that is uber reminiscent of the pilot, like much of 301 is," Marlene recently tweeted. "Labor day weekend. Hanna sees Spencer shopping..."

As fans may remember, when Hanna bumped into Spencer in the pilot, the two hadn't seen each other in a while, and Hanna and Mona (Janel Parrish) were out on one of their shoplifting sprees. Hopefully the scene plays out differently this time around...

Whatever happens, we like the idea of the Season 3 premiere paralleling the pilot, since the "A" reveal at the end of Season 2 has brought us to a totally new chapter in the Pretty Little Liars story.

Catch an all-new Pretty Little Liars when Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
