Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Shipper Spoilers Roundup
In preparation for the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 premiere (Season 3, Episode 1: “It Happened ‘That Night’”) tonight, June 5, we've been rounding up our favorite spoilers about the upcoming season.
Now it's time to turn our attention to ‘shipping. We've already looked at what's rumored to go down in the premiere, but here's a collection of all the juiciest spoilers that we've heard about the whole season.
Aria and Ezra: It sounds like Ezria is going strong. Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra (Ian Harding) will celebrate their one-year anniversary with a "sizzling hot" scene in the season premiere, and it just gets more interesting from there. The couple is out in the open now, and things seem to be easier, but Ian Harding thinks there will be wrenches thrown in the works at some point. According to showrunner Marlene King, Ezria "has it all" this season: "fun, family, flirting, mystery." Ian Harding says Ezra has some "skeletons in his closet," and we know we'll be meeting some of his family, so it sounds like there will be plenty of twists and turns for this ‘ship, even though they are now telling the truth about their love.
Hanna and Caleb: Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) are also still together. Based on this sneak peek, we know they even took a cooking class over the summer between seasons, and it sounds like that will lead to a cute scene in the premiere. However, Ashley Benson warns that Hanna and Caleb "are going to have problems." Boo. At least she adds "I think they will always be somewhat of an item." We do know that there is a "very powerful Haleb scene" coming up in Season 3, Episode 4: “Birds of a Feather.” Whether that's a good sign for the couple or not remains to be seen.
Spencer and Toby: Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Toby (Keegan Allen) will be together when the season starts, and it sounds like they kick off with some intimate scenes. Keegan Allen says Spoby fans will be "happy" with the new season, but Troian Bellisario warns that although the couple no longer has the external pressure of "A" ripping them apart, "what that reveals is how they are going to tear themselves apart from the inside. Spencer is still hyper-controlling, Toby still has a heart of gold that can be hurt really easily, so now it’s all about, 'Can they survive each other?'" There have also been hints that at least half the couple will face danger in Season 3, Episode 7: “Crazy,” and Marlene King said "everything is possible" when asked if Spoby might break up again this season.
Spencer and Wren: And what about everyone's favorite cute British doc, Wren (Julian Morris)? We know he's around during the season, so what does that mean for Wrencer? There are definitely scenes between Spencer and Wren, but Marlene King has been cagey about exactly how shippy those scenes are. Julian Morris says Wren is still in love with Spencer, but hints that "there could possibly be other avenues opening up" in Wren's love life. Troian Bellisario calls Wren "kryptonite" for Spencer, but says that while Wren "kicks up new trouble this season, it's "not necessarily with Spencer."
What about Emily? We shouldn't expect to see Emily (Shay Mitchell) start a big romance again anytime soon. Though Marlene King says that Emily will eventually move on from her loss, dealing with Maya's (Bianca Lawson) death will be a big part of Emily's emotional arc this season. While Paige (Lindsey Shaw) will be back, Shay Mitchell says "Emily isn’t really wanting to jump right back into that whole dating thing again," and "what I think she needs is just emotional support from a friend more so than from a girlfriend or somebody that wants a relationship."
Catch an all-new Pretty Little Liars when Season 3 premieres tonight, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
