After Maya's (Bianca Lawson) tragic demise in the Pretty Little Liars Season 2 finale (Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked”), some fans are refusing to give up hope, even petitioning showrunner Marlene King to bring the character back. Others, however, have accepted the loss and are already looking to the future, wondering what's next in Emily's (Shay Mitchell) love life.
While Paige (Lindsey Shaw)/Emily shippers are hoping their budding friendship at the end of last season will blossom into something more, others are wondering if Samara (Claire Holt) could get thrown back into the mix. Showrunner Marlene King recently commented on the matter.

One fan tweeted at Marlene, "Will we see Samara in season 3?"
Marlene replied, "Not so far."
Marlene has priorly tweeted about working on as many as the first six episodes of Season 3, so if Samara is going to return, it definitely won't be right away.
Claire Holt is probably busy with her role on The Vampire Diaries, but maybe she could squeeze in an episode or two if the writers wanted.
