The Pretty Little Liars Season 3 winter premiere is less than a week away (January 8, 2013), and the anticipation is building.
Fortunately, Wetpaint Entertainment recently took part in a conference call with showrunner Marlene King, in which she dished many intriguing details about the new season. We've rounded up the juiciest ones here.

Drama for every couple: Marlene said that "no couples are drama free" this season. That means "grounded drama" for Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Paige (Lindsey Shaw), and a lot of intense stuff for Ezria.
Did Toby care about Spencer or Emily? It's the question on everyone's minds: Did Toby actually love Spencer, or care about Emily (Shay Mitchell) as a friend? Marlene teased, "I really want to let the fans discover the answer to that question themselves," adding, "you will learn the truth of that in Season 3B."
Toby's mom? Speaking of Toby, apparently we're going to start to learn more about his mother — the one who passed away, not his stepmom — this season.
Mona and Jason: Everyone's wondering what's up with Mona (Janel Parrish) and Jason (Drew Van Acker), who are hugging in one promo photo for Season 3, Episode 14: “She’s Better Now.” Marlene explained that after Mona is released from Radley "she will need some guardianship back in sort of the Rosewood world, and we might find that Jason takes her under his wing a little bit."
A risk of more death? Could someone else die this season? Marlene answered this one with a simple "maybe."
No Garrett: Speaking of dead people, sorry Garrett (Yani Gellman) fans — we won't see him this season, even in flashbacks (though "that doesn't mean we won't see him at some point in time on the show").
Pretty Dirty Secrets: If you didn't watch the PLL web series, Pretty Dirty Secrets, you should get on that, because "there are clues and definitely plot points that we’re seeing in Pretty Dirty Secrets that pay off in Season 3B."
