The only thing we’re sure of when it comes to the second half of Pretty Little Liars Season 3 is that it is going to make us gasp, cry and probably yell at the television. But what else is new? The specifics of what will make us gasp, cry, and yell are still up in the air, but we’re getting closer and closer to getting some answers.

Celebuzz recently spoke with PLL executive producer Oliver Goldstick, who revealed that Season 3B is going to take us back … to the summer of Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse). “We are going to be revealing things that our girls were not privy to. As well as [the Liars] thought they knew Alison, there’s even more very provocative revelations about what happened that summer with her. You’ll know a great deal more about Alison in 3B.” Alison being provocative is not surprising, but what more don’t we know about her?
Perhaps these revelations have to do with the N.A.T. club, which Oliver also mentioned. “Even Allison’s connection to it [the N.A.T. club] will be hinted at in this season and you’ll understand maybe even stronger motivations for why someone may have put her underground.”
But 3B isn’t all about Ali. From the oldest bad girl to the newest bad guy, we can’t forget about Toby (Keegan Allen) and specifically, how his reveal will affect Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario).
Oliver reveals when Toby’s secret will be discovered: “It’s a midway point. They’re going to start finding things that are just highly suspect of somebody who they love and trust. Toby has earned quite a place in their hearts, all of them, obviously Spencer and Emily, so no one is going to jump to this place right away. And then evidence starts to mount that [his loyalty] is questionable.”
So what is going to hold us over until the midway point? How about the return of Mona (Janel Parrish) and her new friendship with … Jason (Drew Van Acker)? “Our Pretty Little Liars are on terror alert because they know this girl and what she’s capable of. But, people like Jason — it seems like he doesn’t know. The fact is Jason is still dealing with his late sister’s missing remains. He’s got a quest as well that may be different than the Pretty Little Liars to solve. Maybe his relationship with Mona – who knows, if that’s something he wants answers to or is he part of it [all]?”
However, Jason isn’t the only one affected by Mona’s return. Having Mona back in the hallways might be just the thing to push Toby over the edge. As Oliver said, “And with Mona’s return, does this precipitate Toby really starting to act out?” Our question: Is he acting out against the Liars or that “A” team? Or neither?
And finally, Oliver reveals that Lucas (Brendan Robinson) is leaving Rosewood for an undisclosed amount of time … and we should be nervous about his disappearance.
“He sort of has to go away because of the way events are unfolding. He reveals a little too much possibly in 3B that forces him to disappear for a bit,” Oliver said.
What will Lucas reveal? What does Lucas know?
For now, we will leave you with Oliver’s summary of how Season 3B starts off: “Mona’s back, Toby’s in black and Byron may be whacked.”
