Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King is known for her spoiler-ific tweets and, today, she has been teasing us with glimpses of the Season 4 premiere script. Here’s one of the most intriguing lines:
"A cat plays with a mouse for hours before she eats it. Once it's dead the fun's over."
Doesn’t sound good for our Little Liars, does it? Who do we think is speaking these words? Mona is one of the more obvious choices. We know she will be hanging with the Liars come the beginning of the season, spilling her secrets. This sounds like the sort of nonsensical metaphor she might utter in between all of the juicy “A” Team details.
Another option is Ali herself. Season openers are usually heavy on flashbacks, and we know that Sasha Pieterse will be appearing in the episode. If there is anyone on this show who talks in riddles, it is Alison. Could she be referring to her treatment of one of her bullying victims, or perhaps “A”s treatment of her?
Speaking of “A,” she also likes to speak in metaphor. Could this line be from a text or note “A” has left one of the Liars? Season openers are also heavy on the “A” manipulations. Could this line (and its implied meaning) relate to whatever the girls find in the trunk of Wilden’s car?
Let us know who you think speaks this line and what it could mean for the Liars in the comment section below!
