Halloween is months away, but not in the world of Pretty Little Liars. Showrunner Marlene King and writer Kyle Bown just devoted their Sunday to the script. Check out what they had to say on Twitter about it:

“Working on the PLL Halloween epi today. Thanks to @KyleBown for giving up his Sunday to play w me,” tweeted Marlene.

Kyle didn’t seem to mind. He had a similarly enthusiastic tweet: “Working on the Halloween episode of PLL is a great way to spend a Sunday! Thanks to all of the PLL fans. without you guys, there's no show.”

The Halloween episode is always an important one. In the second season, “The First Secret” flashed back to the Halloween before Ali disappeared when Ali received the first text from “A” (after being locked in a haunted house and terrorized by Lucas). Season 3’s Halloween episode, “This Is A Dark Ride” somehow managed to top that with a train-set thriller that saw Aria almost getting murdered and Garrett actually getting murdered. We can only imagine what is in store for us this year.

Aside from the traditional thrills and chills, this year’s PLL Halloween episode will also introduce three Ravenswood characters to potential future viewers of the PLL spin-off. That may be worth the watch alone.

Do you think PLL can top their last two Halloween specials? Are you excited to meet Ravenswood characters in the episode or do you think it will just be a distraction? Let us know in the comments below!

Pretty Little Liars Season 4 premieres on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
