Season 4 filming is almost upon us, and we can’t wait for the spoilers to come spilling in! In the meantime, we have to make do with that we’ve got, and last week, Pretty Little Liars writer Bryan Holdman tweeted this description of the upcoming season:“Thrills & chills! Romance & heartache! Secrets & lies!” Sounds like business as usual in Rosewood (and we love it). Here’s our breakdown of what those hints could mean:

Thrills and Chills
PLL is built on these two concepts. Showrunner Marlene King has already tweeted that Season 4 is going to be “killer,” and we believe her. Other thrills could come if the hinted-at Season 3 finale is still burning. Will our Liars be fighting for their lives? As for the chills, no one does spine-tingling like Hitchcock, and Marlene has promised another homage to the master of suspense. This time, PLL will reference The Birds. We can’t to see what avian horror the writers have in store for the Liars.

Romance and Heartache
What does Season 4 hold for our Little Liars’ lovelives? Well, Season 3 has been particularly hard on Spoby, so we’re hoping the possible Spoby resolution and “moment” in the Season 3 finale will lead to happier times between Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and a not-dead Toby (Keegan Allen). We know we are going to see Toby’s mother in the upcoming season. Let’s hope we get some of those Toby answers we’ve all been waiting for.

The other Liar in danger of heartache is Aria (Lucy Hale), who has had a difficult time adapting to Ezra’s complicated family issues. Aria may be ready to take a step back from Ezria. We might be okay with that, too. Hanna/Caleb and Emily/Paige are going strong, but heartache is usually a breath away on this show.

Secrets and Lies
In Season 4, it looks like we are going to get the answer to the question, “Who pushed Ian off of the bell tower in Season 1?” We will also get the aftermath of the Red Coat Reveal. We’re guessing new questions will soon rush in to fill the places of any answered ones, but Pretty Little Liars wouldn’t be Pretty Little Liars without a healthy dose of secrets and lies.
