It’s been awhile since we’ve seen the younger Montgomery sibling, but it looks like he will be making an appearance in Season 4. Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King tweeted yesterday that Mike Montgomery (Cody Allen Christian) will in fact be back in the upcoming season. Huzzah!

We haven’t seen Mike since way back in Season 2 when he was robbing houses, yelling at family members, and suffering from depression. Hopefully things are going better for him now, though the fact that none of his family members seemed to mention him for a season doesn’t bode well. Let’s just assume he was happily engaged in lacrosse-playing for all of that time until we hear otherwise.

We’re also hopeful that this means more independent Aria storylines for Season 4. So much of her Season 3 arc was tied up in Ezria that it became her identity. We liked seeing her as “sister” in the first two seasons, worrying about Mike and trying to help him through a tough time. Maybe Mike can return the favor?

Or maybe Mike’s reappearance could have less to do with Aria’s family life and more to do with the “A” Team (or “B” Team, for that matter). If Mike hasn’t been playing lacrosse this whole time, then what has he been doing? He inadvertently stumble upon an “A”-related clue in Season 2 when burglarizing Garrett’s house. Could he have stumbled upon something bigger?

Are you excited to hear Mike will be back in Season 4? What do you think he will be up to? Let us know in the comments below!
