Our break from Pretty Little Liars has already felt like the kind of torture “A” would approve of, but on October 19, we’ll finally get a PLL fix that should tide us over until January.

At the GUESS by Marciano & VOGUE 2011 Holiday Collection Debut, Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Shay Mitchell (Emily) to get the scoop on the Halloween prequel episode and what’s to come next spring.

“I’m so excited everyone to see it, because it was such a fun episode to shoot,” says Shay, who teases great costumes, and some crazy stuff going down at a Halloween party. “We might tell the first lies that have ever been told by the girls.”

Most importantly, are there any hints about Evil “A”?

“You do find out some stuff about ‘A,’” Shay reveals. “In every episode there’s always hidden clues so if you’re really paying attention you’ll pick them up.”

Fans looking for clues may also want to pay attention to Emily’s pre-coming out behavior. Could it be that she had feelings for Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse)?

“Possibly,” hints Shay. “You might see a little tinge of it, somewhere in there.”

What she’s not as coy about is her relationship with Maya St. Germain (Bianca Lawson), which picks up when PLL returns in January.

“Now I’m helping her – the roles kind of switch,” says Shay about their new dynamic. “As Emily’s come more into herself, she understands what she wants and I think she’s a lot more confident to help Maya in this situation.”

Exactly what situation is she referring to?

“It is the type of situation that if you watch the episode, you’ll find out,” jokes Shay.

While we’ve learned that Emily will be Maya’s support system, we have far from figured out if the couple will stay together past a few episodes or if Samara Cook (Claire Holt) may have put a permanent wedge between the two. Are Emily and Maya meant to be together?

“I think whoever makes Emily happy is who she should be with,” says Shay. “But to be honest, I’m having fun playing around and getting to work with all these amazing actresses.”

We may just have gotten our answer.

Do you think Emily and Maya belong together?
