As Pretty Little Liars fans know, someone will die on the Season 3 Halloween episode (Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride”, airing October 23). We’ve taken a look at why Garrett (Yani Gellman) might be the unlucky victim, and why Jenna Marhall (Tammin Sursok) could be the one to go. Now, let’s turn our attention to Toby (Keegan Allen), who might bite the bullet literally — in just four days.

Here are three reasons why Toby might die in the Halloween episode.

Chad Lowe kinda said so. In case you missed it, Chad Lowe (Byron Montgomery) recently told a reporter about the kinds of questions he asks the PLL writers. Chad said, “I’ve asked the writers... what happened to Toby, who killed Toby...” To avoid hysteria, PLL writer Andy Reaser assured fans that they had filmed several different endings to the Halloween episode, and that no one in the cast (including Chad) knows who dies.

His partner in crime is a psychopath. That’s the problem with being one of the bad guys: You’re usually stuck working with less-than-stellar minds. So far, Toby and Mona (Janel Parrish) are the only members of the “A” team we know about, and they clearly work closely together. With a certified psycho for a partner, shouldn’t Toby be a little scared that his team is on the verge of imploding? Especially if the psycho has access to meds and bullets?

He’s going up against Garrett. In this sneak peek, Garrett wants to tell Spencer (Troian Bellisario) what really happened the night Alison (Sasha Pieterse) died, and who stole her body. When Toby finds out, he has murder in his eyes. But hold on a second — Garrett isn’t just some random guy. Garrett is a former police officer, and to become an officer, he had to undergo vigorous training. He also knows fully well how to use a gun. In a one-on-one fight, we’re not so sure Toby would come out alive.
