Pretty Little Liars Speculation: Is Ezra on the "A" Team?
We used to think the Pretty Little Liars writers would never make Ezra (Ian Harding) evil, but then Toby (Keegan Allen) happened, and now we're suspicious of every character — yes, even Mr. Fitz.
So, could Ezra be part of the "A" team? There are definitely some things about this hot teach that set off warning bells.
Why? Here are the reasons we think Ezra could be part of the "A" team.
The money: We're still highly suspicious of the pile of cash Ezra (Ian Harding) had hanging around during the summer season. His story about how he sold his car was convoluted at best, and the fact that Jason (Drew Van Acker) was seen writing a check for $50,000 to a mysterious person right before Ezra was suddenly rolling in dough adds to our skepticism. After all, Marlene King has said there are "no coincidences" in Rosewood.
MIA: Speaking of coincidences, in Season 3, Episode 10: “What Lies Beneath” Ezra was MIA for a bit. He claimed it was because he was trying to buy the car back, but could it really have been for something "A" team related? Jason was also missing during that episode — could they have been meeting up?
His acceptance of the "Jenna Thing" and "A": This didn't make us that suspicious at the time, but, looking back, it seems like Ezra dealt with the realization of what the Liars did to Jenna (Tammin Sursok) surprisingly well. He also seemed to accept the idea of "A" easily. Unlike Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) or Paige (Lindsey Shaw) he hadn't had much firsthand experience with "A" to help ease him into the idea, and the fact that he actually originally pushed Aria (Lucy Hale) to spend more time with Jenna could be construed as suspect. Maybe he knew all along.
He was at the masquerade ball: The "A" team seemed highly active at the masquerade ball in Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked.” Did Ezra really show up to prove his love for Aria, or did he have an ulterior motive?
His sudden appearance at the Halloween train. First Ezra was MIA in Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride,” then suddenly he was there, after lots of bad things went down. Happy coincidence, or was he on the train the whole time?
His typewriter. "A" uses a typewriter. Ezra owns one, and during Season 3, Episode 18: "Dead to Me" the camera kept focusing on it. Coincidence, or clue?
Of course, we're not sure if the writers would ever destroy Ezria so thoroughly, and we're still not sure why Ezra would be on the "A" team — unlike Toby, he doesn't have a history with the Liars.
What do you think? Could Ezra be on the "A" team, or is that out of the question?
