Pretty Little Liars Season 3, Episode 21: "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" ended on an enigmatic note, with a fishman dredging up a "Rosewood Police" hat. Obviously, that event is significant, or it wouldn't have been included on the show. But what does it mean?
We have a couple of theories about how the Rosewood police hat ended up in the water, and they all have to do with Wilden (Bryce Johnson).
Wilden was in the trunk of the car. Some fans have speculated that someone was in the trunk of the police car that Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Aria (Lucy Hale) shoved into the water. That might explain why the show drew attention to the fact that it didn't sink in the way the girls thought it would. If that person was Wilden, the hat may be the show's way of suggesting that he's gone for good.
It was Wilden's body, not Toby's. Another popular theory: Toby's (Keegan Allen) not dead, and the "A" team used Wilden's body to trick Spencer (Troian Bellisario). If that's the case, the "A" team may have tossed Wilden's clothing into the water, which would explain where the hat come from.
The car will be found. On the other hand, maybe Wilden's not dead. If that's the case, than our guess is that the hat was just randomly in the car, but that the fisherman finding it could eventually lead to the car itself being discovered, which would be bad news for Ashley Marin (Laura Leighton).
