On the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Halloween episode (Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride”), the Liars realized something very important. There were four people in Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) bedroom the night she was killed, all with links to the NAT club. Now, two of those people are dead, and two members of the club are dead. Is “A” targeting the NAT club, and if so, why?
The first victim was Ian (Ryan Merriman), who “A” killed in Season 1, Episode 22: “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” Ian was a member of the NAT club, along with Jason (Drew Van Acker) and Garrett (Yani Gellman); all three of them had the club membership in their high school yearbooks. Prior to his death, Ian was furious that the flash drive containing the NAT club’s footage had gotten out, and tried to kill Spencer (Troian Bellisario) because she had it.
Now, Garrett, another member of the NAT club, is dead. Garrett would have seen the same footage, since he was part of the club that shot it. With two members dead, is Jason next?
We have one theory, especially considering Alison’s murder. Since we know Toby (Keegan Allen) is “A,” what if he is trying to kill off everyone who saw footage of him and step-sister Jenna (Tammin Sursok) involved in a compromising position?
As we know, Alison found out that Toby and Jenna had a sexual relationship. She’s dead. Those who may have seen actual footage of the relationship are slowly being killed. One reason why Jason may be spared, for the moment, is that he was so often high or drunk, that he might not even remember what he saw.
Toby would then have to presume that, since Alison knew about him and Jenna, then the Liars would too. Hence, his torture and fear tactics with the Liars.
Another theory could be that whatever the NAT club saw and filmed is something we don’t yet know about. But whatever it was, the “A” team could be determined to keep it a secret. What if, perhaps, the NAT club shot footage of Alison’s secret twin? If she were determined to remain hidden, she might want to make sure they all kept their mouths shut. Permanently.
The next question is, what will happen to Jason, Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) (who was also in Ali’s bedroom), and Jenna? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
