On the Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Halloween episode (Season 3, Episode 13: “This Is a Dark Ride”), Ezria had a super-romantic moment when Ezra (Ian Harding) showed up to support Aria (Lucy Hale) after her near-death experience. While the scene was encouraging, Lucy Hale reveals that their relationship will face some major obstacles when Season 3 returns on January 8.

In an interview with Celebuzz, Lucy says that “You’ll definitely see more of Maggie and you’ll see more of [Ezra’s] son.” While we figured that Maggie would continue to play a major role in Season 3, Lucy’s next comment hints that the situation is more complicated than we thought.

When speaking about Ezra’s son, Lucy says, “...or what you think is his son.” Is she hinting that, despite the chronological details and circumstantial evidence, Maggie could be lying about Ezra’s paternity?

However, Lucy elaborates on Ezria’s upcoming struggles: “They’re sort of trying to figure out what is best not only for them as individuals but he now has someone to take care of.”

If Ezra really does have a son, Lucy says, that might affect Aria’s decision about whether to stay in the relationship or not. “Aria has to grow up even more and sort of figure out what she wants for her life and her future.”

The last thing we want to see is an Ezria breakup, but is that what Lucy is hinting at? Of course, if Maggie is lying, maybe Aria’s soul-searching will be for naught. Stay tuned when the season returns!
