What do Veronica Hastings, “A,” and George Bernard Shaw have in common? Apparently, Season 4, Episode 5 of Pretty Little Liars...

“Went to the table read for ep 405 of #PLL," tweeted Lesley Fera, the brilliant actress behind the role of Veronica Hastings on PLL. "[Maya Goldsmith] wrote it & it's A-mazing! Intricately woven & so funny! Brava, Maya! #PLLArmy.”

Sounds like this could be ones of the eps in which the Hastings matriarch “will have her hands full.” (And don’t think we didn’t catch that “A” pun, Lesley, you sly fox!)

What else can we expect from this episode? Well, according to this Twitter convo between Lesley and writer Maya Goldsmith, there is going to be an epic Veronica Hastings scene: “Can't wait for that scene,” Maya tweeted to Lesley. “I know you're going to hit it outta the park;)"

It also sounds like there is going to be a George Bernard Shaw quotation in said scene. Veronica Hastings would quote a Nobel Award-winning playwright. As much as Spencer would probably hate to admit it, in many ways, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

George Bernard Shaw — the author of many plays and novels, who is perhaps most famous for Pygmalion — is incredibly quotable. Two of our favorite possibilities for the PLL-borrowed quote: “First love is only a little foolishness and a lot of curiosity.” (Veronica has got to be itching to comment on the rekindled Spoby romance). And, the oft-quoted, “Youth is wasted on the young.” (Which seems exactly the kind of bitterness Veronica would slip into a conversation with her daughter.)

Are you as excited for Episode 5 as we are? What scene do you think Veronica and Maya are referring to? Let us know in the comments below!
