Ever since the Pretty Little Liars Season 2 finale (Season 2, Episode 25: “UnmAsked”), fans have been grieving the loss of Maya (Bianca Lawson). So it was hard to watch Emily (Shay Mitchell) wallowing in the aftermath of Maya’s murder in the Season 3 premiere (Season 3, Episode 1: “It Happened ‘That Night’”). Now, however, executive producer Oliver Goldstick has some exciting news for Emaya fans.

Oliver tells TVLine, “I’m not teasing with this: You have not seen the last of Maya.” Pairing this bit of information with Shay’s recent revelation that Maya will remain a “very special character” in Season 3, we have to wonder if those of you who sent Emaya pens to the PLL offices actually caused a mini-revolution.

Other juicy details from Oliver’s interview include a warning about Lucas (Brendan Robinson): “Lucas has gone a little dark on us … He’s a more ragged version of the character we’ve known.” Also, the first three or four episodes of Season 3 are spent “just sorting through all of that mess” from the Season 2 finale.

What do you think? Could Maya really come back and, if she does, in what form will she reappear?

Catch an all-new episode of PLL on Tuesday, June 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
