Hanna finally loses her virginity on Pretty Little Liars! In this week’s episode (Season 1, Episode 19; February 28, 2011), entitled "A Person of Interest," she and Caleb go all the way in a tent in the woods. Let's just say that Ashley Marin's blow up with Hanna had the opposite effect on her daughter's relationship with Caleb...
The episode begins with the girls each being interrogated by the police and confessing to having received the video of Alison and Ian from “A.” All of the girls' parents seem shaken by the proceedings, but Spencer’s freak out the most, as they don’t believe her about Ian killing Alison, and they even suggest that Spencer needs therapy. Talk about harsh.
Toby decides to stay at a hotel to avoid Jenna until his parents get home, and it just so happens to be the same hotel where flute music is coming out of room 214. Spencer and Toby then decide to have a good old-fashioned stakeout, playing Scrabble to pass the time, and Toby is surprisingly smart! Yes, "goofball" was his 104-point word, but still! He managed to beat Supersmart Spence.
Ezra and Jenna start spending an awful lot of time together, which makes Aria nervous, especially when Ezra starts asking questions about Jenna’s accident. After receiving Emily’s blessing, a guilt-ridden Aria comes clean to him about her role in Jenna going blind. Given that Ezra doesn’t immediately freak out on Aria, we would say that he’s a keeper.
Paige has been avoiding Emily until she finally invites her to a karaoke place and even convinces the sometimes-uptight Emily to join her onstage for a Pink song (naturally, because P!nk is bi and so is Em!). They have a romantic picnic together, but when Paige says she doesn’t want to go public as a couple, Emily loses interest. (She's so over hiding who she is.)
Ms. Marin finds Caleb’s bag and realizes that he’s been staying over, so she kicks him out. But then Hanna leaves with him, where they have that sexy camping trip we mentioned earlier. Hanna confesses to her thoroughly embarrassing nickname “Hefty Hanna,” while Caleb explains that he wants to visit Arizona because that’s his mother’s last known whereabouts.
Spencer and Toby convince a greedy maid to let them into room 214, but they find that the bag that Ian gave Jenna is actually empty, accompanied by a recording of a flute. Of course, the trip isn’t a total loss, seeing as how Spencer catches a glimpse of a topless Toby, and then Toby later plants a smooch on Spencer. Sounds like someone’s gotten over Emily!
Ms. Marin spends a little more time with Caleb and, despite her suspicions, lets Caleb stay with them in their guest room. It’s here that Caleb slips out of the house to make a very mysterious phone call, in which he tells someone that he “can’t do this anymore.” Who could he possibly talking to? And does this mean that Caleb is not to be trusted after all? We want answers!
Finally, at the end of the episode, Melissa confesses to Spencer that she was with Ian in Hilton Head, not Alison, as they had gone down there to get an abortion of their first child (which they later lost before birth). And then Spencer is informed that the police now know about her dating Ian and are suspicious. To top it all off, the girls are being videotaped by “A” at this very moment! Perhaps “A” is all out of movies to watch on Netflix?
So it turned out to be quite the smokin’ hot episode, between Toby losing his shirt, and Caleb and Hanna sharing that Tent of Love. We can only hope that next week's is as steamy!
