Our world was turned upside down when we learned Toby (Keegan Allen) is on the "A" team during Pretty Little Liars Season 3, Episode 12: “The Lady Killer.”

While we know the truth, the Liars don't, and since the audience isn't able to reach through the TV and drop them a note, they're going to be in the dark for a bit. However, we do know his secret won't be kept forever.

On Season 3, Episode 16: "Misery Loves Company,"  one of the Liars will learn the truth, and according to showrunner Marlene King, "the fallout will be huge." An increasingly large number of hints suggest that none other than Spencer (Troian Bellisario) will be the first to discover the bad news.

But is that a good call? We have mixed feelings. Here are the reasons we'd be okay with Spencer being the first to find out — and also why we think it might be better if she isn't.

Why it it's a good idea: First of all, Spencer is the closest to Toby, so it just makes sense. Unlike the other Liars, she's often in his room, even when he's not there (like when he's showering — or perhaps when she's planning him an anniversary surprise). It would be easy for her to stumble on a clue, such as a suspicious text.

Plus, Spencer finding out the truth is what we're most excited for with the Toby is "A" story. We're looking forward to seeing her on a warpath, and are interested in what she'll do if she does find out first. Will she tell the other Liars right away, or will she try to get to the bottom of what's going on herself, in hopes that it’s all some sort of misunderstanding?

Why we're not totally sold: All that said, we still kind of want at least one of the other Liars to find out before Spencer does, because we think it would be really interesting to see how they handle telling her. We want to know how she reacts to hearing this kind of bad news from her friends, given her propensity to accuse anyone and everyone other than the people close to her.

What do you think: Should Spence be the first to know, or are you crossing your fingers that the hints are misleading?
