Maya's (Bianca Lawson) death was devastating enough, but after a clue from Season 3, Episode 7: “Crazy” seemed to reveal that Maya knew something important, some fans are worried that her reputation will be retroactively bashed. Should Maya fans be worried that their fave was hiding a deep, dark, dirty secret?

Not according to showrunner Marlene King. When a concerned fan asked her not to make Maya evil, Marlene assured them, "The Maya reveal did not suggest she is a bad guy. It was meant to suggest she knew something. More 2 come."

PLL write Andy Reaser has said something similar in the past. It sounds like whatever secrets Maya had, they don't make her a bad person — instead, we're guessing she was just unlucky enough to find out the wrong thing about a dangerous person (or group of people).
