We know that you’re dying to know who “A” might be! Don’t worry — we’ve got our crack team of sleuths on the case, picking up even the tiniest clue for your mystery-solving pleasure. Here are some hints from PLL Season 1, Episode 22, “For Whom the Bell Tolls” (March 21, 2011) that may help us solve this thing for good!
Suspect #1: Noel Kahn
Why he might be "A": After having been gone for several episodes, Noel finally returned for a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance in the crowd at the church. It certainly seems fishy that he appears just after “A” supposedly hides Ian’s body. And we’ve had our suspicions about Noel before, considering that he threatened to out Aria and Ezra’s relationship. Long story short, the guy is bad news!
Why he might not be "A": It’s a little hard to imagine what his motive would be for stalking the girls. Then again, there’s still some mystery involving his relationship with Ali, so maybe there’s more to come from Noel. Plus, he would have to be kinda stupid to be spotted at the scene of the crime if he was in fact “A,” right?
Suspect #2: Officer Garrett Reynolds
Why he might be "A": Jenna Marshall has emerged as a very likely candidate for “A” in the past few weeks — perhaps a bit too likely. The characters keep assuming that it’s Jenna, making it seem as though the show is trying to fool us. But with the revelation that Officer Garrett is dating Jenna (!), he suddenly seems like a contender, and maybe he may had a beef with Ian that led him to push Ian off the bell tower. (By the way, is it asking too much for this show to one day have a cop who isn’t crooked?)
Why he might not be "A": He has only recently become a substantial character, making it weird that “A” would be added this late in the game. And he really seems to be more of a pawn of Ian and Jenna’s than the one calling the shots. But you never know!
Suspect #3: Mona Vanderwall
Why she might be "A": Just about everything Mona does is suspicious. In fact, answering Hanna’s phone and trying to get Lucas to lie for her — as Mona did this week — would seem to be textbook “A” behavior.
Why she might not be “A”: The only truly cruel thing we’ve seen Mona do recently is keep Hanna from dating Caleb. So maybe Mona’s not “A” but is just jealous of Hanna’s relationship with him? We sure would be!
