Woman Arrested For Attempting to Break Into Prince George’s School
Prince George has been enrolled in school for a little over a week but there are already security concerns at the London day school he attends.
A woman in her 40s reportedly was arrested for trying to break into Thomas's Battersea on Tuesday, and the reason for her attempts to breach the grounds are at this time unknown.
Details from law enforcement are thin at this time, but Met Police confirm a female suspect is in their custody for attempted burglary.
Whether her unlawful entry had anything to do with the young prince is yet to be revealed, but nevertheless the school and the royal family are working to increase security.
"We are working with the school, which is attended by His Royal Highness Prince George, to review its security arrangements after the incident, a Met Police spokesman said (via the Evening Standard.)
“Police are part of the protective security arrangements for the Prince and we will continue to work closely with the school, which is responsible for building security on its site,” he continued.
The royal family was much quieter on the matter, with a statement simply saying, "We are aware of the issue but we would not comment further on security matters."
The school also declined to comment.
It's a spot of bad news in an otherwise momentous month for the royal family. On September 4, Kensington Palace officials announced that George's mum, Kate Middleton, is pregnant with her third child.
Due to her condition of hyperemesis gravidarum, which she has had for all three of her pregnancies, the Duchess was not able to attend her eldest child's first day of school.
Instead, Prince William and the school's headmistress escorted the 4-year-old prince into school grounds in, let's be frank, the cutest uniform ever.
Hopefully this small security issue is a one-time occurrence. George is third in line to the throne after his grandfather, Prince Charles, and dad, Prince William.
George is the first royal to attend the school, though two alumni, Cara DeLevingne and Florence Welch, would grow up to be celebs in their own right.
Both Harry and William attended the Wetherby School in London for their grammar school education.
Fingers crossed that George's school is able to keep the rabble out!
