Prince Michael Jackson Cancels TV Appearance After Sister Paris’ Suicide Attempt

Prince Michael Jackson has bowed out of a TV appearance following his sister’s suicide attempt.

People reports that the 16-year-old son of Michael Jackson has canceled an appearance on hit German show Wetten, dass...? (Wanna Bet?) following the suicide attempt of his 15-year-old sister, Paris.

Paris Jackson was hospitalized on Wednesday after reportedly slitting her wrists and taking a large number of pills, allegedly over building depression and a fight she’d had with her older brother over trying to reconnect with their birth mother, Debbie Rowe.

Silke Blomer, a rep for German TV station ZDF, said that the network was understanding of Prince’s decision to cancel.

“Under these circumstances, we perfectly understand that Prince Michael prefers to stay close to his family. We wish Paris the strength and the power to recover soon.”

Paris Jackson was scheduled to film a segment for a summer episode of Wetten, dass...? in Mallorca, Spain, although it is unclear if she will still appear in light of her recent troubles.
