Prince George and Princess Charlotte Steal the Show at Queen’s Birthday Parade
Prince George and Princess Charlotte had all eyes on them at the Queen's birthday celebrations.
The Trooping the Colours parade is an annual official commemoration of the British Sovereign’s birthday.
The Prince and Princess made their appearance with the rest of the family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Charlotte, at just 2 years old, already knew how to work the crowd as she smiled and waved.
George, 3, acted excitedly as he greeted the crowd from above.
The future king of the Commonwealth can be seen stepping up onto higher platform to get a better view of the festivities.
Before the event, the Queen and Prince Philip held a minute of silence and then a message in regards to the recent tragedies.
“Today is traditionally a day of celebration. This year, however, it is difficult to escape a very’ somber national mood. In recent months, the country has witnessed a succession of terrible tragedies,” the Queen said.
“As a nation, we continue to reflect and pray for all those who have been directly affected by these events,” the Queen said.
“During recent visits in Manchester and London, I have been profoundly struck by the immediate inclination of people throughout the country to offer comfort and support to those in desperate need."
Thankfully the royal children could provide some comic relief in times of insecurity.
