Puff Daddy Returns! Sean Combs Ditches Diddy for His ’90s Name (VIDEO)
It’s out with the old once again for Sean Combs! The music mogul has shed his famous moniker Diddy and returned to his Puff Daddy roots. While this may sound like a complete name change to us mere mortals, the 44-year-old New Yorker insists this is the status quo.
“For the record, I did not change my name. I always have been and always will be PUFF DADDY! :) Be cool Man lol #MMM #BigHomie RT!!!!,” he tweeted March 24, referencing his fifth studio album MMM, out this year.
We’re cool. We’re cool. Just, you know, trying to get this straight. It’s Sean’s latest video from Bad Boy Entertainment that got everyone in a tizzy in the first place. In the minute-long teaser for his upcoming single “Big Homie,” the words “Puff Daddy” appear on the screen in big white capital letters before we flash to footage of Sean Combs walking, Rick Ross smoking, and French Montana wearing red sunglasses.
Judging from the fur coats and the blinged out jewelry the trio’s sporting in clips from the video, we get why Sean would want to harken back to the late 1990s, when he reigned as Puff Daddy. Now we just need to see Jennifer Lopez back on his arm and we’ll officially believe time travel is possible.
