Jennifer Lawrence would be the first to tell you that she has a big mouth that often gets her in trouble — but she may be in more trouble than ever before if a new Vulture report is true.
Granted, the news comes from a reporter's eyewitness account, so take this with a grain of salt — but the site claims that the Oscar winner made a rape joke at a Vanity Fair and Armani party at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17.
According to the Vulture reporter, she screamed when she met Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron and quipped, "I broke out my rape scream for you."
In related news, Miley Cyrus made headlines a couple weeks ago for her rape joke. "Everyone says, everyone is gay," she told attendees of a recent concert. "All it takes is one cocktail. And if that doesn't work, just give them a f—king 'nother. And if that doesn't work, sprinkle something in their drink. That's what I always do. Yeah. Yeah, that's right."
Unfortunately for the Bangerz singer, her comment was captured on video, so there's no sketchiness about that report. No recording of Jennifer's alleged comment has been released so far, so nothing is confirmed.
Much as we love J.Law, any humor involving rape is always inappropriate. That said, no one is perfect and everyone misspeaks or makes off-color jokes from time to time, so we just hope that — if she truly said it — she learns from the flap and moves on.
