Bachelor 2014 Ratings: More Viewers for Finale or After the Final Rose?
Chris Harrison and his team of indentured servants did their best to get us hyped for Juan Pablo Galavis’s Bachelor 2014 finale on Monday, March 10. He tweeted, he pleaded, and he blew the house down. At least by Season 18 standards. Whereas the rest of the season was high on drama but low on ratings, the final three hours more than made up for it.
We don’t know what viewers’ motivation was to tune in to the Season 18 finale and “After the Final Rose” special, but they came out in droves. The finale pulled in a 3.3 rating and 10 ratings share in the 18-49 demo, with 10.1 million viewers in the key demo, according to TVbytheNumbers. That number was surprisingly close to Sean Lowe’s 2013 finale, which pulled a 3.5 rating and identical ratings share, and only a few more folks tuned in — 10.42 vs. 10.1.
The “After the Final Rose” special was the real draw, though, possibly because people wanted to find out if Juan Pablo and Nikki Ferrell were still together. They are, surprisingly, and have since retreated from public view with their not-love-exactly relationship. So, just how many folks were keen to see their bond and make sure Clare Crawley was okay? Nearly 11 million! The 10.97 million folks who tuned in earned the show a 3.8 rating with an 11 share, topping Sean’s 3.8/10 and 10.8 million viewership by a hair.
