Real Housewives of New Jersey Ratings: How Many People Watched Episode 2?

The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 6 got off to a shaky start, ratings wise, and we're sorry to say things didn't improve for Episode 2.

The premiere pulled in 2.1 million viewers, which was way down from Season 5's 2.85 million viewers for its premiere. According to zap2it, only 1.64 million tuned in for this season's second episode, at least for the initial 8 p.m. airing. Even worse, it only early a .8 in the all important 18-49 demo.

For comparison, the second episode of Season 5 drew in 2.45 million viewers. With the exception of Season 5, Episode 14 (which fell on Labor Day), this is the first time since Season 1 that the show has had under 2 million people watching. Last season, the average ratings over the entire season was 2.28 million viewers per episode, and a 1.03 in demo.

Long story short, these numbers aren't great. On the other hand, the Real Housewives of New York Season 6 finale, which aired on Tuesday, pulled in only 1.5 million viewers, and that was with the highly hyped final conflict that involved Aviva literally throwing her prosthetic leg.

Do you think RHONJ deserves its lower ratings this season, or are people missing out by not tuning in? Sound off in the comments below!
