The Originals Ratings Match Season High! Will It Get a Full-Season Order?

After its impressive debut and week-to-week growth, The Originals is inching closer to a full-season order.

The Vampire Diaries spin-off continues to see strong ratings, as it’s latest episode (Episode 5, “Sinners and Saints”) matched last week’s series high with a 1.1 rating in the coveted 18-49 demo. After factoring in Live + 3 Day DVR viewing, over 3.3 million of you tuned in to watch Sophie and Davina’s complicated history unfold, which makes “Sinners and Saints” its highest rated episode to date.

With such solid ratings, it’s pretty much certain that The Originals will get a full-season order. The CW ordered three additional scripts of The Originals, The Tomorrow People, and Reign earlier this month, but so far, The Originals is the only guaranteed safe bet for the network.

The CW might be waiting to pick up a full season of Klaus and Co. until it can decide which of its other freshman series Reign or The Tomorrow People — to give a full-season order to. (If we had to bet, we’d put our money on The Tomorrow People. Julie Plec is the queen of the CW, after all.)

What do you think, Originals fans? Are you excited the TVD spin-off is a success? Sound off in the comments!
