Glee Ratings: Season 5, Episode 18 Hits New Series Low

If you thought Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) went through some tense moments last night on Glee, wait until you hear how bad the ratings were! Season 5, Episode 18 (“The Back-Up Plan”) may have delivered in epic performances, but it definitely didn’t deliver in viewership! How many people tuned in last night? Read on to find out!

According to Zap2it, the FOX dramedy earned a series low of 0.8, down 11 percent from last week’s series low, which actually matched the previous week’s poor showing. Needless to say, things are not moving in the right direction. Not only did the ratings drop, but viewership slipped from 2.5 million to 2.35 million. Yikes!

Tuesday night has proven to be an uphill battle for Glee, especially with NBC’s The Voice and NCIS on CBS airing at the same time. Glee is getting a fraction of what these two ratings giants are pulling in.

Last night Rachel faced a big career decision: to stay on Broadway or pursue a possible TV gig. In relationship news, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) may start to face trouble, with an NYC socialite wanting to only propel Blaine’s career, leaving Kurt on the sidelines. But not even all this drama could equal big ratings, which makes us very worried.

Are you surprised that the ratings were down so far last night? Did you tune in? Hit the comments and let us know!

Glee airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
