Glee Ratings Fall to Another Series Low With Season 5, Episode 19

Last night’s episode of GleeSeason 5, Episode 19 (“Old Dog, New Tricks”) — was penned by Chris Colfer (Kurt) and featured a lot of dogs and elderly people. But even that super adorable combination wasn’t enough to save the FOX dramedy’s ratings, which have been falling to new lows each week. How bad were they? Read on to find out!

According to Zap2it, last night’s episode only brought in 2.16 million viewers and registered a 0.8 rating in the key 18-49 demo. This puts the show down slightly from last week’s series low, which saw the same ratings but a slightly higher viewership of 2.35 million viewers. This is a slippery slope for the show, but perhaps next week’s Season 5 finale — Season 5, Episode 20 (“The Untitled Rachel Berry Project”) — will help the show see an uptick.

This week’s episode didn’t really advance the plot in any real way, as we saw Kurt starring in a retirement home’s production of Peter Pan and Rachel (Lea Michele) undergo a major PR facelift thanks to Santana (Naya Rivera). There’s no telling how this season will end, but we’re totally ready to find out!

Are you surprised the ratings for this week’s episode were so bad? Hit the comments and let us know!

Glee airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
