The Vampire Diaries Ratings Hold Steady With Season 5, Episode 2

Good news, Vampire Diaries fans! The Season 5 ratings are holding steady.

Over two million of you tuned in to watch Damon fight off a mind-controlled Elena — and Katherine go head to head with a killer sinus infection — on Episode 2 (“True Lies”). This earned The Vampire Diaries at 1.0 in the coveted 18-49 demo, which is just slightly down from its premiere rating.

But don’t worry too much, TVD fans. The CW will also adjust the rating up after they factor in viewership from streaming on other platforms. Plus, the network will also consider social interest. Seeing how TVD recently snagged the No. 6 spot in Nielsen’s Twitter TV Ratings — with over 278,000 tweets! — there’s nothing to worry about.

After all, The Vampire Diaries is still the CW’s highest rated series, so it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Are you happy with the ratings? Sound off in the comments!

Catch the next episode of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW, followed by the series premiere of Reign.
