Glee Ratings Stay Even For Conclusion of the 100th Episode

The first part of Glee’s 100th episode aired on March 18th, and the ratings for that installment — Season 5, Episode 12: “100” — delivered a much needed uptick for the Fox series, which had seen a series low the previous week with Episode 11.

We’re happy to report that the March 25 ep, “New Directions,” didn’t bring a new low for the once-red-hot dramedy, though it didn’t bring in stellar numbers either. Instead, “New Directions” was even with the previous Tuesday’s “100”, delivering 2.72 million total viewers and 1.1 rating in the ever-important 18-49 demo, per Zap2it. Fox seemingly had a lackluster night overall, with the episode of New Girl following Glee hitting a series low.

The April 1 episode of Glee, “New New York,” will mark the show’s permanent relocation to New York City, and we’re hoping that the change of locale coupled with a renewed focus on some of the show’s original characters like Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) will entice more viewers to tune in every Tuesday night until the Season 5 finale on May 13.

We don’t expect Glee’s viewership to reach the killer numbers it was pulling in during the show’s heyday a few seasons ago, but hopefully we won’t see any further decline as Season 5 wraps up in the coming weeks and Season 6 kicks off in the fall.

Are you pleased that Glee’s viewership was even with last week’s, or would you have prefered even better news? Tell us your thoughts below!

Glee Season 5 airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
