With the notable exception of Glee’s October 10 Cory Monteith tribute episode (at 7.8 million viewers and a 2.8 demo rating), ratings this season have been uncharacteristically low, usually between 4-4.5 million viewers and a 1.5 demo rating.
Prior to this week’s Glee’s lowest rated episode was last year’s Thanksgiving show, Season 4, Episode 7: “Dynamic Duets.” It’s then-series low of 4 million viewers has become the new normal for Glee ratings this year. But the 2.8 million of this week is an even more significant drop.
The moral of the story: No one — we repeat, no one — watches TV on Thanksgiving. Also: Puppets and superheroes, as fun and quirky as they might be, seem to be a total ratings sink for Glee.
Even Ylvis’s viral hit “The Fox” couldn’t save Glee this Thanksgiving. What does the Fox say to that?
