From the creators of Pretty Little Liars comes Ravenswood, a drama centered "on a town, not far from Rosewood, PA, (where PLL takes place!) which has suffered under a deadly curse for generations. Five strangers suddenly find themselves connected by this fatal curse and need to dig into the town's mysterious and terrible history before it's too late for each of them." The PLL/Ravenswood powers that be are keeping the show's secrets under lock and key, but we've rounded up everything we know so far to help you dive into the mystical world that is Ravenswood!
When will Ravenswood air? Ravenswood will premiere on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 after the Pretty Little Liars Season 4 Halloween episode.
What is Ravenswood about? We know you want all of the details, so here's what we know so far:
Ravenswood centers around the titular town, only a couple hours away from PLL locale Rosewood. A curse has been wreaking havoc on its citizens for generations, and while the show stars former PLL character Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn), it touches on the supernatural in a way PLL does not.
Caleb and four other strangers from Ravenswood find themselves united by this curse and the terror that surrounds it, and they set forth to uncover the mysteries about Ravenswood and its deadly hex before it's "too late." Talk about spooky!
Outside of these overarching plot points, we still know very little about the show, though we did get a glimpse into the Ravenswood world in the Pretty Little Liars episode "Under the Gun" — which clued us in on the town's old-timey feel, eerie perma-grey color palette, menagerie of creepy cemeteries, and abundance of ravens with a penchant for suicide.
Who are the stars of Ravenswood? In addition to Blackburn, Ravenswood also stars Nicole Anderson as Miranda — a "feisty, disarming and unconventionally attractive 17-year-old" and fiercely independent foster child — Britne Oldford as Remy — "a girl who can fit anywhere but doesn't belong to any one crowd" — Brett Dier as Luke — a "17-year-old lone wolf and old soul brooding with intensity" — and Merritt Patterson as Olivia — Luke's twin sister and a "former prom queen struggling with a recent fall from grace after the murder of her father." The show will also featuring recurring appearances from Meg Foster, who made her Ravenswood-world debut in Season 4, Episode 6 of Pretty Little Liars as the mysterious Mrs. Grunwald.
Who is working on Ravenswood? PLL showrunner Marlene King is the creator of Ravenswood, and also acts as one of its writers and executive producers. The Pilot episode is co-written by King, Oliver Goldstick, and Joseph Dougherty, though the director at this time is still unknown.
Does this mean the end of Pretty Little Liars!? Concerned PLL fans, worry not! For those of you worried about Pretty Little Liars ending prematurely because of this spin-off, fear not: the series is less than halfway through Season 4, and ABC has already renewed our favorite show for a Season 5!
