This week’s episode of Ravenswood gave us much to talk about, but we still haven’t completely moved past the Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) bathtub scene in the pilot. Luckily, neither has the Interweb! Tyler sat down with HollywoodLife.com to dish on the classic scene…
For those who need a refresher, the scene in question takes place mid-way through the first episode of Ravenswood. Caleb and Miranda have settled into the Collins’ family funeral home, and Caleb takes a bath per Mrs. Grunwald’s suggestion. While soaking away the day’s troubles, someone or something wraps the shower curtain around his head and pushes him under the water. Caleb survives, only to be almost-drowned again later in the episode. Ghost is obviously upping her game. What’s next? Attempted drowning-by-reservoir?
So, what was this cheery scene like to shoot?: “Really cool,” according to Tyler, adding that the tiny bathroom was actually (and awkwardly) filled with a bunch of crew members. “It was exciting [but] kind of nerve-wracking, walking around the set in, basically, a thong. … But I did all of that myself. We had somebody holding me underwater. … I popped up after the first take and I was like, ‘That’s awesome! Let’s do it again.’” Be careful what you wish for, Ty! This show kills off main characters like they live in Westeros.
