Ravenswood threw a lot of supernatural shenanigans at us in last night’s episode (Season 1, Episode 3: “Believe”). We discovered that the recently murdered town mayor, aka Olivia and Luke’s dad, was killed because of his investigation into the town’s spirit population. (Talk about unappreciative constituents, eh, Mayor Matheson?) This made us wonder: who else in Ravenwood knows about the ghosts? We speculate below!

Everyone

This town has the feel of a conspiracy to it. So much so that we wouldn’t be surprised if most if not all of the adult population was in on the Ravenswood curse and the ghosts that stick around because of it. We’re not sure why Mayor Matheson didn’t get the memo maybe the investigation that got him killed wasn’t simply into the curse, but how to stop it? We don’t think the ghosts would like that. It seems like the curse is keeping them here, which means if it is broken with this cycle, then they may have to move onto whatever comes next. Sure, for some, that might be preferable to floating around one small Pennsylvania town for the rest of eternity, but, for others, the known is always better than the unknown. Is that fear of the mysterious world beyond enough to make these spirits kill?

Raymond and Grunwald

We’d almost be willing to watch an entire show about this odd couple having vague conversations about secrets and people who have died. They do it so well! (What did happen to the old caretaker?!) If the curse isn’t a town-wide conspiracy, we still totally think this duo knows what’s up with Ravenswood’s healthy spirit world. In the most recent episode, Mrs. G. stopped after passing Miranda, implying that she was aware of her ghostly presence. For Raymond’s part, the laconic fellow not only runs the town funeral home, but his house seems to be Ghost H.Q. He sent Miranda away after her parents died, presumably to keep her safe from the town’s spirits. How’d that one work out for you, Uncle Ray?

Simon Beaumont

Were we the only ones curious about Remy’s father, Simon’s, screening of the attack on his wife’s unit? On another show, we might just consider it morbid curiosity or an attempt to better understand what his wife is going through, but on this show, we suspect something more. We think Simon is either in on the Ravenswood curse/ghost population, or he is well on his way to knowing what the heck is going on in this town. After all, he does run the town’s newspaper, which means it is his job to ferret out the truth of a story. Does he know the central role his family plays in this particular narrative? Has he suspected it all along?
