It’s still hard to believe, but Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) and Hanna (Ashley Benson) are officially over. It all went down during the Pretty Little Liars winter premiere, in an emotional scene that left Caleb sobbing in his car alone, surrounded by nothing but the pounding rain — and our tears. So many tears.

For the soundtrack to this moment, Pretty Little Liars music supervisor extraordinaire Chris Mollere chose “Train,” a new song by Santa Monica-based singer/songwriter Chris Arena. Full of heartbreak and longing, “Train” fits well with the emotions of Hanna and Caleb’s tearful goodbye.

We here at Wetpaint Entertainment recently chatted with Chris and got his take on seeing “Train” make it to the world of PLL. (More on that conversation over here!)

As it turns out, Pretty Little Liars has used Chris’s music twice in the past, and he’s slated to have new songs appear in two future episodes. In addition to that, his song, “Hennessy,” was featured on this weeks's January 14 episode of Ravenswood, Season 1, Episode 7: “Home Is Where the Heart Is — Seriously Check the Floorboards.”

“It’s one of the first songs I ever recorded,” Chris told us. “‘Hennessy’ is about a high school sweetheart. It’s an older song. It’s a cool song.”

The lovelorn lyrics are full of longing, yearning, and wanting nothing more than for the one you love to want you back.

“Those kind of songs, for me, have always been easy to write,” he said. “Just because I’ve gone through a lot of relationships that have been… You know, I hate to sound like a hopeless romantic, but its just kind of true. It always gives me some material to write with.”

Take a look at the music video for “Hennessy,” then hit the comments with your ideas on how the song might be used on the show.

Lyrics

I don’t suppose you know what I’ve been going through

A half a bottles gone and half of me is still thinking about you

I send apologies its cause

I knew I couldn’t change

yeah my Hennessy fills up when I see you

and when my cigarettes go out I need you

and the sad part is your right

I don’t know where you go

or even what you do

but simple is as simple does

and simply I just have to be with you

I send apologies its cause

Well I want you to want me

yeah my Hennessy fills up when i see you

and when my cigarettes go out i’ll need you

and the sad part is

You go on and leave me

just as long as you know

that every time i look at you

i look the other way out of spite

but the sad part is that i know your right

I send apologies its cause

Well I want you to want me

yeah my Hennessy fills up when i see you

and when my cigarettes go out i’ll need you

and the sad part is right

Chris’s album, “One’s Not Half Two” comes out on January 28, but is available for pre-order on iTunes. The Haleb breakup single, “Train,” is already available.
