Cops Who Pulled Over Ray J (and Took Photos With Him) Investigated For Impropriety — Report
You can't play good cop and bad cop at the same time. Ray J, who has recurring issues with the police, had what sounds like a darn near amusing experience with the Los Angeles Police Department on Wednesday, August 6 — although Internal Affairs is apparently not laughing.
As TMZ explains, Ray was driving his Bentley in the San Fernando Valley when two cops saw him holding his cell phone, appearing to text. They pulled him over and said it was illegal to text and drive. They were also reportedly wondering what was up with the car's lack of a licence plate, since it just had a customized "RJ" frame. Ray told TMZ he informed the police he was just trying to connect his Bluetooth. After they ran his license and registration, they repeated about the dangers of texting while driving … and asked if he was in the music business. Ray told TMZ the cops ordered him out of the car — then asked for a few pics with him.
This would sound suspicious (not to mention ridiculous) — since it's all coming just from Ray — but pics were taken with Ray’s phone as well as the cops’ phones, and Ray shared his pics with TMZ. So now those officers are shown posing with Ray. (Maybe they’re big Love & Hip Hop LA fans?)
Their bosses must've facepalmed when they saw the pics, since TMZ was told that the LAPD has now launched an Internal Affairs investigation. It's a no-no for cops to take pics with a driver, even after letting them go, because it still gives the appearance of impropriety. If you're LAPD, you're probably surrounded by people in the entertainment industry, you can't just be taking photos with people like fanboys.
Officers have not always been charmed by Ray, and he was indicted with 10 charges after a bar incident in May. In semi-related news, Ray also regrets filming his sex tape with Kim Kardashian. Lesson for us all: Be careful how you share your image — in the bedroom and on the streets!
