Ian Somerhalder Reacts to Joseph Morgan’s People’s Choice Win: “Congrats My Brother and Nemesis”

The 2014 People’s Choice Awards wasn’t just a big night for The Vampire Diaries — which snagged a few awards — but for spin-off The Originals as well. Joseph Morgan (Klaus) came home with the PCA for “Favorite Actor in a New Series.” How did former co-star Ian Somerhalder (Damon) react to JoMo’s win?

“Congrats Klaus my Brother & Nemesis;),” Ian tweeted at Joseph following his big win. Aww! We love that, even though these dudes are now on separate shows, they still have much love and support for one another. Can we please get a Damon cameo on The Originals? Thanks, TV Powers That Be!

Speaking of television Powers That Be, Ian wasn’t the only TVDer to congratulate Joseph on the much-deserved win. TVD/The Originals executive producer Julie Plec made sure to give Joseph a shout-out. “Congrats Joseph! Sending you so much love!!!!” she tweeted, sharing a link to the video of the actor’s impromptu acceptance speech on the red carpet, which — FYI — was probably the most adorable thing we’ve seen all week.

Nina Dobrev (Elena) took some time out from her 25th birthday celebrations to comment on Julie’s tweet of the vid. “So sweet!” Nina tweeted at both Julie and Joseph in reaction to the red carpet video. Could this extended cast be any more lovely? Makes us a bit sad they’re no longer on the same show — but we wouldn’t give up The Originals for anything! And, neither, it seems would the PCA voters. Congrats again, Joseph!

Catch the next episode of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET on the CW, followed by an all-new episode of Reign.
