Real Housewives of Atlanta: Should Cynthia Bailey Let Her 14-Year-Old Daughter Date?
The Real Housewives of Atlanta are known for some of the fiercest fights on television, but during the December 29 episode of the hit Bravo show, the arguing took a more personal turn as the ladies debated when it’s appropriate for your child to start dating. As we learned earlier in the season, Cynthia Bailey allowed her 14-year-old daughter Noelle to go on dates — or supervised play dates” as she calls them — with her boyfriend Arthur, but not all of Cyn’s co-stars agreed with her decision.
NeNe Leakes staunchly opposed Cynthia’s parenting choice, noting that she would never allow her 14-year-old son Brentt to date now. NeNe went on about how she often sees young girls dressed provocatively “twerking at the mall,” and concluded that 14-year-olds have no business going out on dates. Although NeNe never mentioned Noelle specifically, Cynthia felt attacked by her friend and left the room in tears.
Cynthia has since stated that she stands by her choice to let Noelle socialize with Arthur, while NeNe maintains her opinion that 14 is too young to date. When we asked Viggle LIVE! users to weigh in, roughly 84% agreed with NeNe and said 14 is too young to date, but 16% thought that Noelle needed the freedom to make her own choices and should be allowed to see Arthur.
Thankfully this conflict seems to be over for now, but there’s never a shortage of drama on RHoA!
