Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi’s Wedding — Did It Pull in the Viewers?

Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker may still be fighting tooth and nail for Mama Joyce’s approval, but it seems as though the wild ups and downs of their love story have already won over their viewers.

The couple, who have been revealing the lead up to their walk down the aisle on Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi’s Wedding, has clearly made an impression with fans, who turned out in droves to watch Kandi and Todd get ready for their big day.

Sunday’s high-drama episode of RHOA brought in a staggering 2.4 million viewers, making it one of the most-watched reality specials on TV — Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s proposal episode, the highest-watched of its season, brought in just 170,000 more viewers.

While the show may have earned high marks from viewers, it also showcased the intense conflict that remains between Mama Joyce and Todd.

After Joyce referred to Todd’s late father as “a pimp” and called his mother “a ho,” the groom-to-be made his objections to her behavior known, causing a temporary rift among the family.

While Joyce’s accusations may have been cruel, it’s hardly the first time she’s had bad blood with one of Kandi’s love interests — when Kandi was together with late fiance A.J. Jewell, Joyce routinely criticized him for having children with multiple women, and accused him of being a gold-digger. Ouch!
