When Cynthia Bailey started the Bailey Agency, part of her mission was to give teenage girls a positive self-image and help them find confidence and raise their self-esteem. So we were surprised when the Real Housewives of Atlanta star shared her plans to start a new diet and lose 20 pounds.
"Starting my new weight loss management program tomorrow! Thanks http://genovive.com @calibere#20pounds," Cynthia wrote on her Twitter page.
At first, we thought maybe Cynthia's account was hacked and the message was an instance of spam, but then we saw the attached photo of Cynthia — a very slim, healthy-looking Cynthia, we should add — happily holding the new diet materials in her hands.
The program she chose, the Genovive diet aka the DNA diet, looks at your genes to design a custom diet specifically aimed at your best weight-loss potential. The plan is effective, but expensive. It does appear to be a fairly healthy option... if you need to lose weight, which Cynthia clearly does not.
We know supermodels need to be stick-thin, but Cynthia is retired as far as we know and she looks great. Do you think promoting her plans to drop 20 pounds is a good idea? Or is she setting a bad example for the teen girls that look up to her? Sound off in the comments section below!
