On Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Shay “Buckeey” Johnson may only be known as Lil Scrappy’s “friend” (with obvious benefits), but this Atlanta star is a lot more than what meets the eye. Here are five things you should know about the reality TV star.
Shay is a VH1 celeb-reality veteran.
Shay is quite possibly one of VH1’s most competitive celeb-reality stars. Most known for her time on Flavor of Love 2, the Geogia peach fought 19 other girls for Flav’s heart (or in her case, notoriety). After not being deemed the winner, Shay would go on to join Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School where she would compete with former Flavor of Love contestant for a cash prize of $50,000. Shay is an entrepreneur!
Like most ladies of a reality franchise, Shay intends on making her mark on the world through her own entrepreneurial efforts. In addition to being a video model, Shay has launched her own shirt line, Bread Girlz, which is marketed towards women who want to “build strong relationships in every aspect of their lives.” To check out her line, make sure to visit the website.
Shay is down with “the swirl.”
There are dozens of women of color who are all about interracial loving and it turns out that Shay is one of them. As a matter of fact, Shay revealed that her celeb crush is none other than funnyman/actor Dane Cook. Who knew?
Shay wishes people would forget the name “Buckeey.”
After receiving the name that would give her fame, Shay admits that she can’t stand the name.
“I wish everyone would retire ‘Buckeey’ from their vocabulary!’ she told VH1. The Atlanta native also admitted that being on Flavor Love was the most outrageous thing she’s ever done to advance her career and that she didn’t care for him at all.
“I was trying to win the title as the winner. Because we were told during the taping that the longer you’re on the show the more relevant you will be. So we didn’t give a damn about Flav,” she told TheJasmineBrand.
Shay’s moved on from Lil Scrappy and Erica Dixon.
We can all thank the hip hop gods that Shay’s love triangle with Erica Dixon and Lil’ Scrappy is officially over. Despite admitting that her brief relationship with the rapper has in fact altered her views on love and trust, it looks like Shay has moved on from Scrappy (just like Erica).
“There is a little somebody that I kinda been seeing but I’m not willing too[sic] move fast,” She told TheJasmineBrand. “I’m not willing to mention his name but there is someone.
