Kandi had fired the first shot back in March, alleging that Kim had "hoarded profits" and used the song without her consent. Kim retaliated by alleging Kandi was just suing as a publicity stunt for her spin-off, The Kandi Factory.
Kim released a long statement on the matter, calling Kandi’s suit, “without merit and suspicious in its timing. [...] The song was created by four people who share in the royalties: Kim, her daughter (who co-wrote the original song in season one of the RHOA show before Kandi joined the show in season two) Kandi and Don Vito. To date, Kim has written checks to Kandi and Don Vito in excess of $23,000. In fact, we believe that Kim may have overpaid a portion of their share to date based on the actual record sales. It is clear to us the lawsuit was brought solely for the purpose of publicity because the facts are not in Kandi's favor.”
Apparently a judge agreed with Kim, or at least didn’t agree with Kandi. As TMZ put it, “But NOW THE WAR IS OVER ... a judge has officially ruled in Kim's favor (pretty much on a technicality involving federal court jurisdiction and blah blah whatever).”
On October 12, in pretty obvious reference to the end of the lawsuit, Kim tweeted, “The truth always prevails!”
How do you feel about the outcome going in Kim’s favor?
